Crochet V-Stitch Cluster Pattern – Easy & Beautiful

The V-Stitch Cluster is a lovely crochet pattern that adds texture and charm to just about any project. Whether you’re making a blanket, hat, scarf, or something else, this stitch is quick to work up and easy to master. Best of all, it creates a design that almost looks like tiny hearts – perfect for cozy, handmade gifts.

About This Stitch Pattern

I’ve always loved working with V-stitches. Traditionally, a V-stitch is made with a double crochet, a chain, and another double crochet – all in the same stitch – creating that distinct “V” shape. Some variations even use two double crochets on either side of a chain space to give the V an extra bold look.

For this version, we’re doing something a little different. Instead of plain double crochets, we’re using double crochet clusters. This small twist changes the texture and appearance of the stitch, giving it a more dimensional, almost heart-like look.

For my sample, I used a worsted weight acrylic yarn and a size H (5 mm) crochet hook. But feel free to experiment with other yarn weights and hook sizes – just be sure they complement each other.

And don’t worry if you’re a visual learner – I’ve included a step-by-step tutorial video to guide you through the pattern.
