Hello, dear reader!
Welcome to the lovely Crochet Easy blog. If you’re a romantic at heart like I am, then you already know how special heart designs can be. After all, the heart is the universal symbol of love! Today, I’m excited to share another beautiful crochet heart pattern with you — the Crochet Granny Heart. 💖💖💖
The crochet granny heart is a charming and versatile project that has quickly become a favorite among crocheters. With its nostalgic feel and cozy texture, this design adds warmth and character to any handmade creation. It’s perfect for anyone who appreciates the timeless beauty of handcrafted items.
One of the best things about the granny heart is how easy and enjoyable it is to make. Using just a few basic crochet stitches, even beginners can confidently dive into this project. The pattern is inspired by the classic granny square technique, which allows you to personalize your hearts through different color combinations and yarn choices.
Whether you use it to decorate a blanket, embellish a pillow, or turn it into a sweet appliqué, the crochet granny heart is a wonderfully adaptable addition to your crochet collection.
What truly makes this heart special is the feeling behind it. Each granny heart carries a sense of love, comfort, and care that simply can’t be replicated by store-bought items. Whether you gift it to someone special or use it to decorate your own space, every stitch becomes a small but meaningful expression of affection.

Everybody Says: LOVE 💗
The heart has long symbolized love because of its deep connection to emotion and life itself. Its steady rhythm mirrors the pulse of passion, transcending cultures and time. As the organ that sustains life, the heart beautifully represents love’s vitality, warmth, and connection.
The crochet granny heart square reflects this symbolism perfectly. Each carefully worked stitch represents care, dedication, and tenderness, transforming simple yarn into a heartfelt creation full of meaning.
Small Crochet Granny Heart Pattern
Round 1 – Creating the Base Ring
Begin by making a sliding ring and chain 4. The first chain secures the ring, and the remaining 3 chains count as the first double crochet. (Alternatively, you may chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.)
Work 1 double crochet into the ring, then chain 3. Repeat [3 double crochets, chain 3] three times. Close the loop gently, leaving enough space for one more double crochet.
Make 1 double crochet into the ring, then slip stitch through two loops of the top chain from the beginning chain-4. Do not fasten off.
Round 2
In the same space as the slip stitch, make 7 double crochets.
Skip the next stitch and slip stitch into the chain-3 space.
Skip the next double crochet, then make 8 double crochets into the following double crochet.
Single crochet in the next chain-3 space and in the next 3 double crochets.
Make 3 single crochets in the next chain-3 space.
Single crochet in the next 3 stitches and in the final chain-3 space.
Slip stitch through two loops of the chain-3, fasten off, and leave a tail for weaving in or sewing.
