Welcome Back to Crochet Easy!
Today, we’re excited to share a charming and enjoyable pattern for a Corner-to-Corner (C2C) Crochet Throw. This throw is a joy to make and results in a beautifully textured finish that’s sure to impress. Let’s jump right into the details!
🧶 Notes on Color Changes
On Increase Rows:
When switching colors, work the last double crochet (dc) of the block until only 2 loops remain on your hook. Cut the current yarn, yarn over (yo) with the new color, and finish the dc. Continue working with the new color.
On Decrease Rows:
Do not chain 6. Instead, turn your work, slip stitch (sl st) into the first 3 dc, insert your hook into the chain-3 (ch-3) space of the same block, yarn over with the new color, complete the sl st, and continue crocheting with the new yarn.

🧵 Pattern Instructions
1. Shape the First Corner
Using Color A:
-
Row 1 (Right Side):
Ch 6, dc in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 ch; turn. (1 block) -
Row 2:
Ch 6, dc in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 ch (this makes the beginning block), then (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) into the ch-3 space from the previous row; turn. (2 blocks) -
Row 3:
Ch 6, dc in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 ch, then repeat (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) into the next ch-3 space twice; turn. (3 blocks) -
Row 4:
Ch 6, dc in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 ch, repeat (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) into the next ch-3 space 3 times. Change to Color B in the final dc; turn. (4 blocks)
Continue increasing one block at the beginning of each row until you have 48 blocks across.
🎨 Stripe Pattern
Repeat the following color sequence:
-
6 rows of Color B
-
6 rows of Color C
-
6 rows of Color D
-
2 rows of Color A
Repeat these 20 rows as you continue building your throw.
2. Shape the Second Corner
📌 Tip: Mark the starting edge as the width of the piece. You’ll now alternate between decrease and increase rows to maintain the total number of blocks.
-
Decrease Row:
Sl st into the first 3 dc until you reach the ch-3 space of the second block. Work (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) into each ch-3 space across; turn. (48 blocks) -
Increase Row:
Ch 6, dc in the 4th ch and next 2 ch, then (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) into each ch-3 space across to the last block. Sl st into the ch-3 space of the final block; turn. (48 blocks)
Repeat these two rows—following the stripe pattern—until your piece measures 43 inches [109 cm] wide and 55 inches [140 cm] long.
3. Shape the Third Corner
Continue the stripe pattern. Now work Decrease Rows only, reducing one block at the start of each row, until you’re left with just 1 block. Fasten off.
🧵 Finishing Touches: Edging
With the right side facing, join Color A in any ch-3 space:
-
Ch 3, work 4 dc in the same space.
-
[Sc in the center dc of the next block, 5 dc in the next ch-3 space] until you reach a corner.
-
In each corner space, work 6 dc.
-
Continue around the entire edge.
-
Join with a sl st to the top of the starting ch-3 and fasten off.
-
Weave in all loose ends.
